Working as a server sounds fun in theory; the free food, cash tips, and you basically get paid to talk to people all shift. But then you get stuck working the dinner rush, when all chaos breaks loose, and you find yourself dripping sweat as you run from table to table while getting an earful from the non-avoidable Karen customers. Some customers are lovely and understanding, but then there are the ones who turn a small mistake into a full-blown screaming war. We've all seen it—the over-the-top complaints, the loud sighs, the way they look at their plate like it personally offended them.

When you're a server, you try to keep your cool, but some customers make that nearly impossible. In this story, one server was met with a customer who took a simple mistake way too far. A wrong side dish from the kitchen quickly spiraled into a lecture about his incompetence. Instead of letting the harsh comments ruin his night, he handled it in a way that left everyone—especially the customer—thinking twice.

    No-Appearance1145 • 4d ago That kicked puppy look is apparently something I do. naturally and I've made teachers nervous doing it (unintentionally as a literal child) and they wouldn't leave me alone the rest of class. It's surprisingly effective especially if it's just natural. Good job making her realize you are a person!
